Story Boards

Here are the story boards for our opening sequence. Whilst drawing and annotating our initial story boards we also did and extra two story boards with messy and tidy ideas for our characters. We will use some of these whilst filming to enhance the mise en scene.

The Choice of Music

The reason for us choosing this song is because of the lyrics they tie in with the story line of our opening sequence the song is by Golden Silvers and its called Arrows of Eros. The band is unsigned to any record label and is only very small but are being told they will make it big later this year.
This is the song below:

The lyrics of this song are:

There was a girl who lived in London town.
The scenes and sounds, they would only bring her down
She had polka dots and rubies in her dreams,
French fantasies on cinema screens...

And she knew from the finish to the start
It was bound to fall apart
Thanks to Cupid's lazy dart.
Wouldn't it be sweet if she could die from a broken heart?

There was a boy who lived inside his head.
He couldn't face the world, so he turned his back instead.
He couldn't see in front of his eyes;
His fantasies of outlaws had him hypnotised...

And he knew from the finish to the start
It was bound to fall apart
Thanks to Cupid's lazy dart.
Wouldn't it be sweet if he could die from a broken heart?

Oooh...

There was a boy and girl who fell in love:
They both were in love with the stars and sky above,
Cinderella, cigarettes and scenes from the past
Were chasing them too fast for this love to ever last...

And they knew from the finish to the start
It was bound to fall apart
Thanks to Cupid's lazy dart.
Wouldn't it be sweet if they could die from a broken heart?

So basically with the choice of this song it shows a boy and a girl of different energy's and thinking's. It shows how they fall in love and everything ends happily ever after and shows how opposites attract. The mood of the song is very upbeat and makes you feel quite happy. This is what we are aiming for as we want it to match our genre which is a romantic comedy. The words of the song talk about a girl and a boy, who are different, and we want to portray our characters as opposites so this fits well with our opening sequence.
